Melissa Mancini, CNM, RN, IBCLC

I am a Certified Nurse Midwife, Registered Nurse, and International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). I provide home visits for infant feeding support through my private practice.

I am a mother to two amazing kids who have shaped my career and my passion for supporting women.

When I had my first baby, I did all of the research about childbirth. I took classes, read books, and felt completely prepared. I thought breastfeeding would be the easy part. Once my baby arrived and we struggled with breastfeeding, I felt overwhelmed and exhausted. As I navigated the breastfeeding world, I was astonished by the lack of knowledge and support.

I earned my IBCLC and launched my private practice in 2019. I have experience providing care in and out of the hospital, and I believe families deserve support that meets them where they are. Breastfeeding can be incredibly emotional, and I respect that infant feeding looks different for everyone.

I commonly support families with issues such as: low milk supply, difficulty latching, tongue tie, slow weight gain, bottle refusal, supplementing, introducing pumping, painful latch, introducing solids, weaning, and more!

Being with women during this transition is something I will never take for granted. It is a gift to be welcomed into families’ homes.

I aim to empower families in a non-judgmental setting to meet their feeding goals. It may not always be easy, but I can support you along your journey.

I was a guest on Dr. Mona’s PedDocTalk podcast to discuss breastfeeding basics.
